Current limits and what’s next
GeoAI refuses honestly where it cannot answer yet. These are the gaps a user is most likely to meet, and the work that addresses them.
Not yet supported
| Question shape | Today | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Two conditions joined by or (“in the noise zone or the tram zone”, “built before 1920 or after 2015”) | Refused, rather than answered as and | Planned |
| Counts per distance band (“0–50 m, 50–100 m, …”) | Refused | Planned |
| Questions anchored on an address (“within 100 m of Dorpsstraat 5”) | Refused when the address cannot be matched | Planned |
| “The most …” rankings where no ordering column is obvious | Sometimes answered as a clarifying question | Planned |
| Multi-part questions where one part depends on another | Not split; answered as one question or refused | Planned |
| Two registers of the same objects (“playground equipment” in two source systems) | One is chosen and the other is named; which one can differ between similar questions, and the other’s count is not stated | Planned |
| Relative dates in months or days | Clarifying question | Open |
| Change over time between two vintages of a dataset | Refused where only one vintage exists | Needs data |
Product surfaces
- The chat shows answers and downloads; results are drawn on a map on the Stage and in your own GIS tool via the downloads.
- The Stage plays the parts of a multi-part question one after another, as chapters, then merges them on the map.
- Multi-part questions run their parts one after another by default.
Data realities
- Some registers only cover one municipality, or cover it only partly. GeoAI restricts and discloses; it cannot fill the gap.
- Similar registers can disagree. When one measurably holds the other and is the fuller or more current register of the kind asked, GeoAI answers from it and says so. When two only partly overlap, neither holding the other, GeoAI answers from one, names the other, and does not decide which is authoritative.
- Some datasets come as indicators of the same thing, such as noise over a whole day (Lden) and at night (Lnight). A question that does not name the indicator may be answered on either; name it for a definite answer.
- Answers reflect the data as last loaded; the catalogue shows when each dataset was synced.
